Legal Representation of Health Care Professionals in New Jersey and New York

 

Ms. Gialanella is a practicing attorney in New Jersey and New York and a registered nurse. Her law practice is devoted to representing licensed health care professionals including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and others who face legal issues in connection with their licensure, professional practices, and employment. She also provides educational and consulting services to health care providers seeking to comply with the numerous state and federal laws and policy trends affecting the health care industry today. 

She lectures widely and has authored articles and chapters about aspects of health law for a number of books. She has taught health policy and the legal and ethical aspects of health care to doctoral, masters and baccalaureate students as an adjunct professor at Teachers College/Columbia University and Seton Hall University's School of Law and College of Nursing. 

Ms. Gialanella enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972; later graduated from the University of Maryland; and then served as an officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She remained on active duty until 1979 when she was honorably discharged. She is a retired major of the U.S. Army Reserve. She received her law degree from New York Law School in 1983 and a Master's of Law in Health Law & Policy from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2004. 

Ms. Gialanella is past president of the New York Metropolitan and New Jersey Chapters of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA). Her other professional affiliations include the New Jersey State Bar Association (Health and Hospital Law Section, where she serves on the End of Life Task Force), the New Jersey State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. She is a past New Jersey Area Representative of the Army Nurse Corps Association.
